BIOGRAPHY OF JACK PYLE, PR FELLOW

Jack Pyle is an executive coach and trainer who helps people improve their personal and professional lives one step at a time. He brings to coaching more than 40 years of professional experience with global corporations, small business and nonprofit organizations. He is in his 37th year of partnership with his wife Connie. Their two grown children are happily working at what they love to do.

Jack's training helps people build trust by improving face-to-face communication. He is nationally recognized for his innovative relationship-building strategies to improve results for organizations. His emphasis on building bridges of understanding and support through coaching, training, advisory groups, speakers bureaus and public dialogue has resulted in award-winning programs for his clients.

His work as a coach and catalyst assists organizations involved in change. He provides leadership to aid small business owners, CEOs, boards of education, government and boards of directors with strategic planning and problem solving.

Jack specializes in leadership development programs and coaches leaders. He created a 10-day Leadership Institute for Michigan OSHA and co-wrote a 5-day leadership program for a General Motors plant that emphasizes teamwork in manufacturing the Cadillac automobiles in Lansing, Mich. He has been teaching leadership skills to Lions of Michigan for more than 20 years. Jack has coached countless professionals to improve leadership skills and communicate effectively face-to-face, especially by listening to staff, the public and customers.

His training also helps small business owners, executives, educators and public officials to be more confident and persuasive in presentations and in media interviews. Jack, himself, has been a spokesman in hundreds of interviews with news people. He has supervised corporate and government responses during such crisis situations as toxic chemical leaks, hazardous waste emergencies, oil spills and transportation emergencies.

Jack created public relations programs for more than 25 years for Shell Oil, Dow Chemical, General Motors and the Michigan Department of Transportation before establishing his company, Face to Face Matters, in Mason, Michigan, in 1988. He has been a speechwriter for CEOs and vice presidents of companies among the Fortune 100 list. He is author of Building Community Support for Schools, published by Kendall/Hunt. National magazines and newsletters have published his articles.

Jack is qualified as a mediator by the State of Michigan to handle mediations for small claims court cases and family court. He also mediates problems for his clients and trains employees in conflict management skills.

In 1995 he was elected to the College of Fellows of the Public Relations Society of America for his "unusual and exceptional contributions to the field of public relations."
