Coaching

My positive focus on my business and personal life improved by a factor of 10 within two months of personal coaching. Previously I focused a lot on the bad things in my life.
    David Nethaway, Personal Trainer

As a rookie entrepreneur and solo employee, I was overwhelmed and somewhat immobilized by all of my new business responsibilities. Utilizing his coaching skills, Jack has helped me organize my thoughts and take better control of the situation. One highlight has been broadening my vision and strategic approach to marketing. Jack has been a great business asset, one I can rely on as needed.”
    Roger Hughes, Audiologist

Personal coaching helps me to get organized and get things done that I've thought about doing, but haven't gotten around to.
Dan Warmels, CPA, Partner, Warmels & Comstock, East Lansing, MI

Speaking

I wanted to thank you for sharing your skills and talents at the Michigan Leadership Institute. What a pleasure it was to see you in action - your excellent reputation has been confirmed!
Patti Repenn, Division Manager, Leadership Division, Lions Clubs International

Your ability to step in at the last minute and develop a specifically tailored, comprehensive presentation with no more than two weeks notice is a true meeting planner's miracle. I marvel to think what you could have accomplished if I had given you a month!
Deborah Thomas, Director of Education, MACU Association Group, Lansing, Michigan

Thanks for the outstanding presentation you made at our international conference in Toronto...I've listened to tapes of all the speakers, and you were one of the best of the four-day conference!
Richard Bagin, Executive Director, National School Public Relations Association

Jack's intensive training methods have been highly beneficial to my staff in building confidence and improving their overall communication effectiveness.
Sunshine Janda Overkamp, former Senior VP, United Way of America

I appreciate the great work you did for our summer conferences. I am sending letters to other state school board associations recommending you. Your talent needs to be widely shared! You enthusiastically show that you really care about people, helping them to become the best they can be.

Justin King, Executive Director, Michigan Association of School Boards

Jack Pyle's dynamic and entertaining presentations stretch people's minds with practical information and insights.

Cheryl Ronk, Executive Director, Michigan Society of Association Executives

Jack Pyle offers instruction on techniques of communication - listening and speaking. He teaches caring. Communication techniques are useless unless the speaker CARES about who they are talking to, and listening becomes merely hearing background noise if we don't CARE about what another has to say.
Jack teaches risk-taking, whether he's sharing himself with students in class, or swapping wigs/hats in an evening comedy performance, he shows us how to take risks. He takes the biggest risks, and teaches us how to give ourselves away. Even in the short time of a weekend, we see how much WE might begin to get back when we take some of those risks and give of ourselves as well.

Douglas Hickman, following 7th annual Lions of Michigan Leadership Institute

Thank you once again for the great training. You are one of the finest speakers I have ever met. Keep up the great work.
Jake Dasho, Kingston Lions Club, following 7th annual Lions of Michigan Leadership Institute

I was amazed with not only the information, but the way you touched every aspect of my life. You taught me how to deal with issues effectively when you shared your personal experiences. I was so emotionally moved by your experiences that after class I shared with you some of my own. Your program will continue to work for me for the rest of my life, with no doubt. Because of this I am extremely confident that I can and will achieve great things that I didn't know I was capable of. And Jack, you inspired that!!!!! Thank you, and thank you again.
Scott Merian, Roseville Lions, following 7th annual Lions of Michigan Leadership Institute

Just a note of thanks for your time and creativity at the conference. If everyone had your energy and insight, the CAA would really be moving in a positive direction. I especially appreciated your flexibility in working with us on such short notice and accommodating our schedule. Our audience of conference-goers was stimulated - and more than one person referenced your speech during the remainder of the conference, so you made an impact on folks. You delivered an excellent presentation and the comments I have heard indicate that it was a real success. Several people have suggested bringing you back.
Leanne Waite, Executive Director, Michigan Community Action Agency Association

Your communication workshop at the National Transportation Public Affairs Workshop in Des Moines was a highlight of the five-day conference. The response of the participants was outstanding - it's not often a group will decide to go to lunch 15 minutes late so they can hear a little more from a workshop leader. You have convinced me that anyone can improve their image and their credibility as a professional by following your easy-to-remember advice.
Linda Thelke, Director of Public Affairs, Wisconsin Dept. of Transportation

Thank you for the truly superb presentation you gave our membership on Leadership Development. Your expert knowledge of the subject was evident and the information you shared was very meaningful to participants. Your presentation materials and methods were truly first-rate. Your message was well received - participants rated you 3.8 out of a possible 4.0, the highest rating of any speaker at the seminar.
Deborah Lewis Barosko, Education Co-Chair, Human Resources Management Association of Mid-Michigan

Thanks for the great job you did.. Your session, which was the first on our agenda, really set the tone for an excellent two-day conference.. Mike and I were impressed with how easily you were able to shift gears at the last minute and incorporate the session on Crisis Public Relations in response to the 60 Minutes program.
Michelle Smith, Michigan Electric Cooperative Association

Your presentation was a perfect ending to our convention and provided our members with great ideas to take home. Your plain talk and ability to get group participation was well received. All the comments I have received have been positive.
Carl P. Kentner, former President and CEO, Michigan Automotive Parts Association

Your presentation to the overflow crowd...was one of the most on-track, insightful and thought provoking PRSA luncheons I have attended.
    Bill Kula, GTE, Dallas

Our members gave you the highest rating among the 20 speakers at our three-day conference. You gave the kind of performance that keeps bringing people back for more.
Pat Stone, Board Member, Michigan State Council, Society for Human Resource Management

...your presentation was wonderful. It's rare to leave a meeting with something concrete that can really be applied upon arriving back at the office. Thanks.
Pat Malcolm, Director of Communications, Physicians Insurance Company of Wisconsin

You demonstrated, in your own presentation, as well as by what you said that anybody can achieve 'peak performance' in their presentation style.
Daniel J. Edleman, Daniel J. Edleman, Inc.

Thank you so much for the super keynote presentation you made at the Indiana Chapter of the National School Public Relations Association Spring Conference. Our evaluations show that you were one of our participants' favorite aspects of the conference. Words like "wonderful," "excellent" and "great" were used to describe your presentation.
    Mary Louise Sirk, INSPRA President

In selecting a Student Day keynote speaker I first went to our customers. When I asked Kent State (public relations students) who they wanted to hear in Cleveland, your name came out loudly. Now, with the program behind us and evaluation forms in hand, your name is even more prominently mentioned and extremely favorably. Your message was not only engaging and enjoyable, but dead spot on.
Patrick Carpenter, Public Relations Manager, Alcan Aluminum Company

On behalf of the National Capital Chapter of PRSA (Public Relations Society of America), I'd like to thank you for an outstanding presentation yesterday. You definitely "walk your talk," and your message is one that we in public relations should remind ourselves of every day. I found the key point strategy you talked about extremely helpful in many types of communications situations. You have inspired me to adopt that technique more formally.
Ellen Schweppe, Manager, Public Affairs, American Insurance Association

It was a pleasure meeting and visiting with you again during the Public Relations Student Society of America's National Conference. Thanks very much for being who you are and giving so much of yourself to young aspiring public relations professionals. If no one ever tells you this again, please know that you are extremely special in the lives of many young people. I'm most grateful to have gotten the opportunity to learn and gain from you a wonderful perspective on not only public relations, but life in general.
Lyle Henderson, National Vice President, PRSSA

Training

Individual training

Jack Pyle's professional consulting in improving my public speaking skills has been tremendous. I sell natural health and wellness care and Jack has definitely made me more believable, which obviously increases sales. Jack is very personable, warm and caring, which makes it enjoyable learning something that most people fear more than death.
    Dr. Kirby Perrault, DC

I would highly recommend Jack's program, How to be a Better Speaker, to anyone who has occasion to do public speaking. You will definitely be better than you were when you started. The small group format Jack uses allows one-on-one coaching, and the video taping, self evaluation and group discussions all make it intensely valuable.
Chuck Gifford, President, Local Business Network

Superb ability to critique and offer reinforcement...The time spent with Jack Pyle was very useful, helpful and enlightening.
Robert E. Schiller, former superintendent, Michigan Department of Education

I wanted to let you know how pleased I am with the outcome of your efforts in resolving the conflict between B. and L., as well as dealing with L's hostility when interacting with others (names withheld by Jack). I believe the one-on-one efforts with these individuals were far more effective than any seminar could have been. It was apparent to me that at our last session, both parties have a clear understanding of what is necessary to continue an effective and professional relationship...I was also impressed with your closure of this sensitive and difficult issue. Hopefully, both of these individuals will be able to build on this foundation you have helped build.
Pat Stone, Human Resources Supervisor, Blue Care Network of East Michigan

Thank you for the fine job you did providing me media relations training. I feel more confident in dealing with the media and in getting my message across in an effective manner. The skills I learned will also be helpful in communicating directly with people one-on-one or in a group setting. I highly recommend your program to others who need assistance in media relations. Your hands-on approach and mock interview techniques taught me how to identify my strengths and weaknesses. I could never learn these things with simple coaching. Thanks again for your fine work and assistance.
John Griffin, Associate Director, Associated Petroleum Industries of Michigan

I have to admit that prior to our first session I was very nervous about a presentation I had to make for a potentially major client. I never thought I would be able to do the presentation, not only professionally, but effectively. After our sessions, I felt so much more comfortable and confident about my upcoming meeting. In the end, the presentation went very well, due in large part to your advice and instruction.
Marianne Primeau, General Manager, In-store Promotion Network, Inc.

Business trainer

Thank you for your participation in the MedImmune Initial Home Office Sales Training Program. Your presentation provided valuable insight that will help enabler the sales representatives to successfully market CtyoGamTM. I received many favorable comments on your discussion.
William Siebold, National Sales Director, MedImmune, Inc.

Thank you for your very insightful presentation on active listening to our staff. I think the skills you taught will prove to be helpful both professionally and personally to any of the staff who implement them in their daily lives. I look forward to your follow up training and perhaps you can share these insights with our Shareholders in the future.
Thomas Smith, Fraser, Trebilcock, Davis & Dunlap, PC

Thank you for the training you made at our produce seminar. You did an excellent job of incorporating facts and ideas about the produce industry into your talk which fired up the attendees and resulted in their participation. Over 60% of the responses specifically mentioned you either by name or presentation. This was indeed encouraging to us. Your help in setting up this program was invaluable to us, and we particularly appreciate your suggestion to tape each presentation. This will help our on-going program.
David Bestman, Presdient, J.A. Bestman Company

Our attorneys and staff were extremely pleased with Jack's presentation and assistance...He is extremely familiar with law firm operations and management (as well as) some of the communication and interpersonal problems.
David John Masud, Masud and Gilbert, PC

Thank you for conducting such an excellent seminar on leadership communication for our account managers...You have a special ability to put everyone at ease and make the training enjoyable as well as challenging.
Diane Marinelli, former President, Publicom, Inc.

Government trainer

Jack Pyle surpassed our expectations in contributing to our cultural change process. He developed and taught a 10-day Leadership Institute which gets spectacular results with both our leaders and leaders-to-be. Positive changes can be seen throughout our organization every day.
    Douglas Kalinowski, Director, Michigan OSHA

I wish to offer my sincere thanks for the two excellent three-day seminars you conducted. The marked improvement in the public speaking abilities of each employee as the seminars progressed demonstrated that our training objectives were surpassed. It was gratifying to note the groups' overall positive responses, their appreciation of your efforts and your commitment to their personal improvement. Two occurrences stand out in my mind:
     1.  On the third day of the first seminar an all-night blizzard would have normally kept everyone home, yet 11 of the 13 students attended the session.
    2.  Secondly, the sudden and dramatic improvements in the presentations on the second afternoon of the second seminar was truly remarkable.
Both these incidents demonstrated the positive impact of your presentation and your ability to motivate the students to high achievement. Your efforts helped instill in these key front-line employees a pride in organization that will be invaluable in their almost daily contacts with the public.

Paul J. Garceau, retired Assistant District Engineer, Michigan Department of Transportation

Jack Pyle is an excellent leader because he is living what he is teaching.
Yvonne Hinkson, Attorney, U.S. Justice Department, Washington, D.C.

Jack uses a positive approach to training that permeates throughout the session. He is an excellent instructor.
Bill Ayers, Controller of the Currency, Washington D.C.

Thank you for sharing your great ideas and professionalism...now we are truly communicators of the first order.
Gary Emmons, former Colonel, U.S. Air Force, Director of Public Affairs

Healthcare trainer

Jack, you have what you seek to help others uncover - leadership. Thanks for helping me unlock some of my potential.
David R. Hewitt, former Director of Marketing & PR, Gerber Memorial Health Services

Your workshop "Listening to Solve Problems" was very helpful to us. The insights were many, as were the laughs. Your approach to conflict, as a normal part of relationships that can help us learn and grow as a team, helped us focus on a positive future together. The listening skills have been implemented by many of us, with improved results for our communication efforts. The action plan has become a tool for conflict resolution at our meetings. It was a pleasure working with you. Your warmth and humor made the process fun.
Patricia Gacchina, RN, Administrator Home Health Services, Continu-Care

Firm but gentle guidance. Able to give constructive criticism. Accomplished more in the area of team building than I thought we would.
Ron Willmarth, Vice President, Michigan Hospital Association Insurance Company

Association/Nonprofit trainer

It is truly an outstanding experience for our leaders to learn from Jack Pyle. He has received the highest evaluations of any speaker at our Michigan Lions Leadership Institute in all seven years of the program to date. And Jack's own leadership in offering new program ideas helps us to keep improving the Institute. Many participants who have been through corporate leadership training say our program exceeds their previous learning experiences. Here are a few comments about Jack from our most recent Institute:

  • A content expert who really knows how to communicate it
  • Super enriching. Focused. Experience shows
  • Very engaging. Makes an hour-and-a-half go by like 20 minutes
  • He's fantastic. Has a powerful message and is very entertaining, as well

Paul Hemeryck, Lions of Michigan, State Leadership Chair

Jack teaches credibility, helping people become more believable representing their organizations.
Andrew J. Such, Executive Director, Michigan Chemistry Council

I want to thank you for presenting the leadership communication seminars. Just yesterday, two weeks after the last session, I ran into one of the participants. She couldn't say enough about the excellent job you had done and what she felt she had gained. That kind of impact is getting harder to produce in our "mega seminar society." You are to be congratulated. Without exception, every person who attended the seminar felt they had a positive experience. With the wide variety of backgrounds of participants, it was a challenge to meet everyone's expectations. You not only met them, but consistently exceeded them.
Paul McConaughy, former V.P., Research and Communication, Capital Area United Way

Staff members who completed the program on leadership communication gave both the seminar content and Mr. Pyle's presentation high ratings and indicated that they learned skills they can use every day on the job. I can highly recommend Jack Pyle, both as a professional speaker and trainer, as an individual who is highly sensitive to the needs of a particular organization.
John Cauley, Jr., Executive Director, American Red Cross, Mid-Michigan Chapter

I knew Jack would be good, but I didn't expect him to be so good. What an amazing transformation in the participants.
Denise Dalrymple, Executive Director, Child & Family Services

The members who attended the conference are still talking about how valuable and enjoyable your presentation was. Any association or organization interested in helping members become aware of and improve imaging and communication skills should make a quick call to you because you are a master in the area! A specific bonus to your presentation was the informative, hands-on booklet that each member received. Participants felt involved and were given the important opportunity to interact with you.
Sheri McClaskey, State Director, Michigan FHA-HERO/HERO TEAM

The only thing I would have liked more than what I experienced today would be to spend another day or two working with you.
John Holmes, Counselor, Neighborhood Youth Corps

I learned more in a one-day seminar than in a 10-week college course.
Thelma Velasquez, Health Counselor, Cristo Rey Community Center

Education trainer

I have a doctorate in leadership, but it did not provide the information I received in your workshop.
Wm. Michael Pritchard, Principal, Tri-County Area High School, Howard City

I can't tell you how much your presentation added to our regional representative training last week. Your Speaking as a Leader was the absolute highlight of our week. You have a special gift for telling it like it is. You were so well prepared; you knew exactly what you wanted from the group and expertly guided us. You pressed all of us to recognize our successes and provided tools for us to improve. You did a great job!
Deborah Clancy, Professional Development, North Central Association of Colleges and Schools

Jack created a program for us to build confidence and increase credibility of school board members when the pressure is on - in public meeting, media interviews and face-to-face conflict. Nearly 200 people attended four sessions and about 95% of them gave Jack the top rating of 4.0 in their evaluations. One participant, Ray Churchill, wrote: "Possibly the best MASB session I've attended."
Justin King, Executive Director, Michigan Association of School Boards

It was a real pleasure getting to know you when you came to Alabama to make three presentations to the Alabama Council for School Administration and Supervision's Leadership Institute, "Building Community Support for Schools." Your evaluations in Sheffield, Birmingham and Mobile were all outstanding. I was impressed with your rapport with the groups. Thanks for being so nice and understanding when our hotel rooms had been cancelled the first night!
    G. B. Beasley, Field Consultant, Alabama, Association of Secondary School Principals

I wanted you to know how pleased our board of education and administrative staff was with your workshop on relationship-building techniques. The message was clear, and the program both practical and useable. In our district, building community support has now become a top priority, and your program made it possible. Thank you again for your expertise and interest in our problems and goals. It was a great weekend.
James McNasby, Chief School Administrator, Morris Hills Regional District, New Jersey

We appreciate your following through on the commitment for our training (the day after your father's death) although I don't know how you managed it! John told the administrators yesterday what had happened and they were all amazed! They had no hint of such grief or that you were even tired (from spending a day with him in intensive care). You gave an amazing and exceedingly professional performance. The feedback that followed was very positive.
Mary Weber, Director, Big Rapids Community Education

Thank you for the excellent presentation you gave to the teacher aides in our school system. The entire day was great, thanks to the careful preparation you did in tailoring the inservice to the particular needs and concerns of the audience. Participants felt valued, they had lots of fun, and they left with practical suggestions and worthwhile materials which they could apply the minute they walked out the door into the multiple roles of their lives - as parent, spouse, friend, co-worker, teacher aide and community member. I heard several participants comment as they left, "He was great. He kept us motivated and interested even after lunch." With 138 paraprofessionals in a large, awkwardly-shaped dining room, to keep them actively engaged in relevant learning was quite a feat. But you did it! You walked around the room, joking with the audience, sharing personal stories and giving them real things to do. Your workshop is especially important for teacher aides because of the vital role they play in the classrooms. Unlike teachers, almost all of their interactions with students are subtle and spontaneous. If those who heard your presentation put even a few of your ideas into practice in their daily interactions with children, self-esteem would increase, angry interactions would decrease, and the positive climate for learning and growing would improve.
Susan Goering, Ed.D, Consultant, Staff Development, Flint Community Schools

Thank you for helping to make the Georgia School Boards Association Communications Workshop a success. The information you shared about how messages are sent and received, and what are more effective ways to persuade audiences was very pertinent to our members. Many of the participants made a point to tell me what a good job you did. I also appreciated the effort you went to in discussing with me issues affecting Georgia's school board members. I also noticed the time you spent meeting our members before the workshop began. Adding this personal touch made the difference, I believe.
Gary Ashley, Executive Vice President, Georgia School Boards Association, Inc.

I just wanted to express my appreciation for the fine presentation you made at the Spring Conference for Michigan State University County Extension Directors. The topic of boosting one's credibility as a leader is one that is certainly most appropriate and needed for the County Directors. As a "middle person" attempting to mobilize local resources to bring about community change, the County Director's leadership competency must be a key concern. Your coverage of this topic was excellent. Many new ideas were brought forward and some of the more standard approaches to leadership were given new perspective.
Joseph Levine, Ph.D., Professor, Agricultural & Extension Service, MSU

I just had to write and share my recent experience as the keynote speaker for the Ninth Grade Graduation Class of my former high school. Initially, I was strongly tempted to decline. However, I remembered your training tips emphasizing the development of three key messages and the use of personal stories. Once I developed the key message, the personal stories were "a piece of cake." I also made a conscious effort to have a stronger, more enthusiastic opening and to smile more. Needless to say, the speech was very well received.
Mary Duncan School Social Work Service, Detroit Public Schools

Let me share thoughts about our Communications Conference. First, it was one that our people went away from with useable information. That is why they came. They report to me that they were pleased with what they received - and they had a good time learning. That is important to our association. It is what brings them back for more. In that respect, you were everything we promised them. It also lays the group work for the next conference. If they are pleased with this one, they return for future conferences. Your style of presentation and active participation is just what we wanted and needed. It will be useful to our school board members and administrations and more importantly, it will be used.
James Anderson, Executive Director, Wyoming School Boards Association

I wanted to thank you for your participation in the Boardsmanship Academy in San Diego. As evidenced by participant comments, your involvement was a highlight of the conference.
Jean Dunn-Gallagher, Senior Consultant, California School Boards Association

I first came into contact with Jack Pyle when he presented a day-long session at the Michigan Association of School Boards. His program, "Creating Credibility: The Cutting Edge of Leadership Communication," was one of the best I've seen at MASB.
John Cook, Superintendent of Schools, Big Rapids Public Schools

You have a style that promotes creativity and risk-taking.
Kim Root, former Director of Communications, Michigan Education Association
